Ground Control Announces Strategic Simplification and Leadership Enhancements
Ground Control Announces Strategic Simplification and Leadership Enhancements to Drive Next Phase of Growth | April 2026
Ground Control has announced a series of strategic organisational changes to simplify its structure, sharpen market focus, and strengthen its capacity for future growth. These initiatives represent a pivotal step as the company moves into a new phase following sustained growth and diversification.
In recent years, Ground Control has rapidly expanded, developing a diverse portfolio that has cemented its leadership position. This growth brought diversity and now provides clients with complete end-to-end services.
Strengthened Executive Committee and Refined Divisions
Ground Control is bolstering its Executive Committee (ExCo) and introducing a streamlined divisional structure to drive operational excellence. The company will now operate through four core Business Units:
- Maintenance & Ireland, led by Darren Daley as Managing Director.
- Infrastructure, Utilities & Rail, led by Austin Brown as Managing Director
- LDE, continuing under the leadership of Daniel Grix
- Land & Water Solutions, a newly formed division led by Stuart Dillett
These changes reflect Ground Control’s scale and strategic ambitions, positioning the business for significant growth, supported by major contract wins, new service lines, and future acquisition opportunities.
Operational Focus Across Divisions
- Maintenance & Ireland is consolidating multiple services into a unified operating model, driving stronger accountability and internal collaboration.
- Infrastructure, Utilities & Rail will drive scalable growth by integrating key business areas into a single national division and strengthening both governance and delivery capability.
- LDE will maintain momentum while expanding into Biodiversity Net Gain and increasing its presence in EV and PV infrastructure.
- Land & Water Solutions brings together water, civil engineering, and road care services into a fully integrated, end-to-end offering focused on maintenance, reactive works, and project delivery.
Ground Control also welcomes SAS Rope & Rail Ltd, specialists in rope access and rail services. Renowned for surveying hard-to-reach and confined spaces, their highly qualified workforce and proven track record make them a trusted partner in critical infrastructure support.
Ground Control has further strengthened its Board by appointing Jay Verjee as Non-Executive Director. As founder of Addition Capital and Director of Future Motors, Jay brings nearly two decades of cross-sector experience, offering invaluable commercial and strategic insight.
A Simpler, Sharper, Stronger Organisation
These changes build on Ground Control’s strengths, creating a more streamlined and scalable organisation. The new structure will:
- Improve customer experience through clearer service offerings
- Strengthen competitive positioning in evolving markets
- Enable greater scalability and flexibility for future growth
