Ground Control has secured a significant civil engineering contract to strengthen key infrastructure across Scotland. This five-year contract will support operations and maintenance of the INEOS Forties Pipeline System (FPS), a critical network for transporting and processing hydrocarbons.

From their new depot in Grangemouth, local teams will provide a range of civil engineering services on and around FPS assets and sites to support safe and efficient operations.

This extensive contract covers ground investigations, earthworks, temporary works, foundations, drainage, structural enhancements, and road infrastructure.

Operating across the FPS South facilities, at Kinneil Terminal, Dalmeny Tank Farm, PLPG, RLPG, and Hound Point export terminal, the contract will focus on the infrastructure essential for the stabilisation, storage, and export of crude oil and gas products. These facilities house complex, safety-critical systems, including high-pressure processing equipment, pipelines, storage tanks, and export facilities, ensuring that operations run smoothly and safely.

Ground Control’s scope will support the integrity and availability of these assets, ensuring uninterrupted operations across both production and export systems.

Stuart Dillet, Director of Land and Water Solutions at Ground Control, said;

“Securing this contract marks an exciting new chapter for our business as we expand our footprint in Scotland, poised to serve this safety-critical infrastructure. This award reflects our ability to navigate complex, high-hazard environments safely and effectively, backed by strong operational performance.

The Forties Pipeline System is a vital part of the UK’s energy landscape, and we are thrilled to help enhance its reliability and performance. Our mission is clear: to deliver innovative and efficient civil engineering solutions that boost asset availability and drive long-term improvements in operations and performance.”
